Can you think back to the time when laptops for gaming were not so accessible? Basically as I remember they were not really the best selling notebooks but as they were the most expensive they were the greatest money producing systems. They were the kind of notebooks wanted by many however the expense was just too high. Perhaps they were never the most practical however I still believe they were the best laptops. Having mentioned that most of us most likely did not buy laptops of this variety because of the cost. Sales will increase though now that well known manufacturers are getting into the sector.

I think they could class it as a premium portable and make tons of cash on these particularly with their mass production facilities. This could be one of the few margin producing products they have as they make nothing on many others due to the overwhelming competition. I am quite sure that people would buy laptops if mass marketed by these global brands. This is a colossal threat to smaller specialist resellers. Plainly what I see taking place here is that the multinational brands cutting prices initially to get rid of the competition from smaller resellers. I believe purchasing from an established brand also provides the perception of increased value for money. The notebooks being introduced by brand name manufacturers are all competing for the best laptop computer title. In my opinion though, this is actually a ray of promise for the small players in retail. People like the service to customise because they can specify what’s most valuable to their needs. People that get high performance laptop computers will typically look past the gimmicks. The tech specs are important for this kind of buyer.

For the consumer, this holds a lot of positives. A plan that the local resellers could employ is to cut margins in to shift more system. Don’t forget that is just my view on the situation. Technology is continuously getting better and the new innovations will always be expensive on launch. Even though I still think things will be positive due to the overcrowded sector, so we will have to watch.
